FUN TIMES AT AWM SOCAL'S TELEVISION SPEED MENTORING

Yesterday, the Alliance for Women in Media Southern California hosted Television Speed Mentoring at SAG-AFTRA. I programmed this event and had a really great time organizing it. Mentors at the event included TV writers like Kate Powers (Rectify), Julie and Shawna Benson (The 100), and Sarah Cunningham and Suzie Freeman (School of Rock). We also had executives from OWN, Warner Bros., FOX and CBS, as well as on-air talent like A&E's Tanya Meme, and actress L.Scott Caldwell (she played Rose on LOST). The keynote speech was given by Kate Flannery (Meredith on The Office). This has definitely been one of the most fun and challenging events I've ever put together. I had a blast though!
